Practice Policies
Repeat Prescriptions
All pets on repeat prescriptions are required to have regular check ups. We are only allowed to treat animals that are under our care and to be as such, the pet needs to have been seen within three months.
When you require a repeat prescription we shall check your pet's medical history and will follow the directions of the veterinary surgeon who last examined your pet. Unless otherwise stated the repeat prescription check ups are every three months, however, if appropriate the veterinary surgeon may request that we do six monthly checks; if this is recorded on your pet's record, it is the MAXIMUM length of time before we need to see your pet.
WE REQUIRE 24 HOURS NOTICE OF REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS
Private Prescriptions
Prescriptions are available from this practice.
You may obtain relevant veterinary medicinal products from your veterinary surgeon OR ask for a prescription and obtain these medicines from another veterinary surgeon or a pharmacy.
Your veterinary surgeon may prescribe relevant veterinary medicinal products only following a clinical assessment of an animal under his or her care.
A prescription may not be appropriate if your animal is an in-patient or immediate treatment is necessary.
You will be informed, on request, of the price of any medicine that may be prescribed for your animal.
The general policy of this practice is to re-assess an animal requiring repeat prescriptions for/supplies of relevant medicinal products every 3 months, but this may vary with individual circumastances. The standard charge for a re-examination is £17.81
Further information on the prices of medicines is available on request.

Our Policy on Direct Insurance Claims
(where payment is made to Warbreck House from the owner's insurance company)
It is our practice policy that as routine we do not allow direct pet insurance claims. However, if this is something that you would like to request you must speak to your veterinary surgeon or Jane Ardrey as soon as possible.
If Warbreck House agrees to this claim it will relate to the initial treatment only, it will not relate to long term treatment of the same problem, or to a future unrelated problem.
We do not offer direct claims for E&L Insurance (and its related companies). If you are insured with this provider, please speak to your veterinary surgeon or Jane Ardrey immediately.
We do not offer this service for fees less than £350
Please supply a claim form immediately treatment begins.
With most insurance companies you can easily download a claim form from the internet, and most insurance companies will include a claim form with your policy documents. We also have a small amount of PetPlan forms in stock. Should we not receive a claim form within five working days we will no longer be able to offer this facility for you and you should make alternative arrangments for payment in full. You will have to complete all relevant parts yourself as due to FSA regulations we can not assist you with this. Please complete the form filling in the request for direct payment to the veterinary surgeon.
We require immediate payment of £100
This fee is to cover any excess fee and our admin fee of £13 which applies to each direct claim. Should your excess fees be less than this amount we will of course refund any credit after your claim has been met.
It is your responsibility to ensure that we are paid within a reasonable amount of time. If the claim is excessive of 30 days, we will issue a statement to you remiding you to contact your insurance company. If the insurance company is not paying the claim (for whatever given reason) you are responsible for the full amount.
Please note that all policies are different and excesses may vary from policy to policy. It is your responsibility to cover any items unpaid by your insurance company. Any balance remaining after the direct claim must be paid within 14 days of receipt of the statement of your account. If at any time you have a query, please contact Jane Ardrey, however, if the query relates to your policy and its conditions, we will not be able to help; you will need to contact your insurance company direct.
Should we not receive payment within a reasonable time we shall issue a final reminder which can then progress on to referral to a debt collection agency.
If at any time we have to issue a final reminder or that we have to refer a balance to a debt collector we will not be able to offer any future direct claims on your account.
